ReShaping via Bonding

Bonding refers to applying a soft, doughy material to your teeth and then hardening it with professional dental tools. Bonding can help fill gaps and cracks, as well as add size to a small tooth (or teeth). Even better, it can give a permanently discoloured tooth a healthy, natural hue, removing the need to get dentures.

When used together, contouring and bonding give you endless options in terms of shaping your teeth. What’s truly fantastic here is that these options are permanent, or nearly so – because the bonded resin is extremely durable, and because shaved enamel will never grow back and give you problems again.

Durability

It’s important to care for your reshaped teeth the same way you would for your natural ones. The exception is, you may want to use a whitening toothpaste in the days after you get your bonding to prevent discolouration. You will also want to avoid biting down hard on food items like hard pretzels and apples. Dental resin is durable – but it’s not titanium, and it can lose its shape over time.
